Jesse’s 2011 MLB Predictions

I’m much less bullish in my predictions for the Phillies than I was a month ago when I wrote about them due to the injuries to Utley, Dom Brown, Polonco and Lidge.  I think many of these, especially Utley’s could linger throughout the season.  This could really open up the NL.  I’m also a very superstitious Phillies fan and I refuse to jinx them by assuming they will waltz to a World Series.  It also seems to me that whenever teams are can’t miss – they do.

In the AL – I love the Red Sox to mow down everyone on their way to a World Series title.

AL East Champ: Red Sox

AL Central Champ: Twins

AL West Champ: Rangers

AL Wild Card: Yankees

NL East Champ: Phillies

NL Central Champ: Reds

NL West Champ: Giants

NL Wild Card: Braves

AL Champ: Red Sox

NL Champ: Braves

World Series Champ: Red Sox in 6.

AL MVP: Joe Mauer, Minnesota Twins

AL CY: Jon Lester, Boston Red Sox

AL ROY: Mike Moustakas, Kansas City Royals

NL MVP: Albert Pujols, St. Louis Cardinals

NL CY: Cole Hamels, Philadelphia Phillies

NL ROY: Brandon Belt, San Francisco Giants

Top 3 BOLD Predictions for 2011:

1. Brett Myers will out duel Roy Halladay on opening day causing mass panic in Philadelphia.

2. The Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles will not finish in last place bringing some joy to our Nation’s Capitol.

3. Chase Utley won’t play this season.  (but I really hope he does)
