Fantasy MLB Spot Starting: 05.19.11

Welcome back to a soggy Spot Starting from the east coast.  A bunch of games were rained out Tuesday so be sure to check back on these probables for updates due to shuffling of rotations.

For games on Thursday May 19th these selected pitchers might be had in your league (less than 50% owned in Yahoo! or ESPN) with percent owned Yahoo/ESPN, (team), and opponent:

Kyle McClellan 44% / 31% (StL) vs. HOU

Fausto Carmona 29% / 27% (CLE) @ CWS

Wade Davis 24% / 53% (TB) @ TOR

Derek Holland 22% / 5% (TEX) @ KC

Chris Narveson 16% / 11% (MIL) @ SD

Tyson Ross 7% / 7% (OAK) vs. MIN

Liván Hernández 5% / 2% (WAS) @ NYM

My Pick: Chris Narveson @ Padres

Alternate: Fausto Carmona @ White Sox

Deep League Special: Tyson Ross vs. Twins

Narveson is serving up grounders and striking out almost a batter per inning – that’s always a recipe for success.  Add in his 3.06 FIP and matchup against the worst offense (non-Phillies swoon) in the league (Padres) and you have yourself a great Spot Start.

Ross is coming off his best start of the year and gets to face the woeful Twins offense, worth a flyer in Deep Leagues.

Results from 05.16.11:

Jordan Zimmermann: Game Postponed due to rain

Season Results (my pick only):

8-5, 155.1 IP, 142 H, 56 ER, 136 K, 45 BB, 3.24 ERA, 1.20 WHIP

Holland and Davis, no thanks. Fausto is a tricky one in Chicago…
