06.06.11 Box Score Breakdown: Fantasy MLB News and Notes

A rather tame evening at Citizens Bank Park last night, although Jesse was yelling at the Polish String Band’s lack of dancers.

Let’s get into the few games from last night…

4th and Home Player of the Day: Brennan Boesch – 5/6, 3 R, 2 HR, 5 RBI…Wow. Just. Wow.

The Bats:
Prince Fielder
– 2/3, R, HR, 4 RBI…Up to 49 RBI. He leads the NL now.

Ryan Braun – 2/4, 2 R, RBI, SB…Without the long ball, Braun is still a box score beast!

Michael Brantley – 3/4, 2 R, HR, RBI…Tell me he is owned in your league. Tell me!

Asdrubal Cabrera – 3/4, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI…The Roid Homer Binge continues. He now has 12 in 240 ABs. Coming into this year he had 18 in 1,415. Just sayin’…

Jonny Gomes – 2/3, R, HR, 4 RBI…All or nothing. Last night? All.

Jay Bruce – 3/4, 3 R…2 doubles out of the clean-up spot. Wait, Dusty moved his hottest hitter to the 4-hole?

Ian Kinsler – 3/4, R, 2 RBI…He’s alive! Batting average now higher than his weight.

Nelson Cruz – 2/4, 2 R, 2 HR, 4 RBI…Two 2-run shots. 4 HR in the past 4 games. Now 4th in HR in the AL even after a DL-stint. Oh what he could do in 162 games…

Mike Morse – 2/6, R, HR, 3 RBI…Figures. FIGURES!

The Arms:
Cliff Lee
– 7 IP, 7 H, 0 ER, 10:1…Lee looked like he was going to get roughed up as the game started with a few singles, but he settled down and really shut a terrible line-up down.

Zack Greinke – 7 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 6:1…Greinke has not been dominating, but I think come July, he will be a top option.

Josh Tomlin – 6 IP, 9 H, 6 ER, 3:0…”Hi Josh, it’s Earth. Have we met? Oh we have? Great.”

Clay Mortensen – 6 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 3:2…In the battle of the Clayton’s, Clay M wins!

Clay Richard – 7 IP, 5 H, ER, 8:3…He’ll toss is a nice start like this every once in a while. Please, check his splits and play him at home.

John Danks – 7.1 IP, 7 H, 0 ER, 7:1…Remedy? Seattle.

John Lannan – 7 IP, 4 H, ER, 6:3…Outduels Lincecum!

David Price – 7 IP, 5 H, ER, 7:0…Angels were mincemeat for the former #1 pick.

Hey, when they announce there will be “Pole” dancers, I expect a little bit more.
