Welcome back to Killin’ the Odds & the Regular Season!
In the “Today’s Games” section, you will see my picks to win for the day. I will post either the “Money Line” or the “Run Line”. The money line is always a “straight up” bet which means your team will never need to win or lose by a specific amount of runs. The money line odds represent what amount has to be wagered or what can be won. For example, if there is a minus sign (-) next to an amount, you have to wager that amount to win 100. If there is a plus sign (+) next to an amount, you will receive that amount for every 100 wagered. When you see a “Run Line”, that means a spread is involved. In Baseball, the spread is always 1.5 runs but you can find alternate run lines on some websites. When I post a run line of -1.5, that means our team must win by two runs. When you see a run line of +1.5, that means our team can lose by one run and still win the wager. Listen to our show from April 5th,
2011 for more explanation and tips.
Today’s Games (6/11/11)
Seattle Mariners (+109) @ Detroit Tigers (-119) My Pick: Seattle Mariners Money Line
Let’s try this one more time with Pineda. His only career start against the Tigers came in Comerica Park and he got the win (6 IP, 2 ER, 9 K). Max Scherzer has put up some pretty crooked numbers in his past three (13.2 IP, 19 ER) and the Mariners are 26-19 when facing a right-handed starter. The Tigers suffer against right-handed starters as they are only 20-23 against them.
Oakland Athletics (even) @ Chicago White Sox (-110) My Pick: Chicago White Sox
Danks proved me wrong earlier in the week as he pitched a gem against the Seattle Mariners. Now that he has the taste for blood, expect the thrashing to continue against the lowly A’s. Danks has good career number against them (4-1, 2.25 ERA) and he is much better at home (1-2, 3.24 ERA). Gio Gonzalez has not had much success against the Sox (0-3, 6.45 ERA). Carlos Quentin and Paul Konerko have been on fire of late. Konerko does not have good numbers against Gonzalez but Quentin is 5/9 with 1 HR and 4 RBI.
Results from 6/10/11
Milwaukee Brewers (-107): WIN +93.5
I love the lop-sided victories.
San Francisco Giants (-111): WIN +90
Four in a row for me!
Daily Total: +183.5
