06.29.11 Box Score Breakdown: Fantasy MLB News and Notes

Late night last night…

4th and Home Player of the Day: Miguel Cabrera – 2/4, 2 R, 2 HR, 4 RBI…You’d think with a game like this the Tigers would win. Nope!

The Bats:
Orlando Cabrera
– 4/6, 2 R, RBI…O-Cab is a nice multi-position play if he’s 2B/SS in your league.

Ryan Raburn – 2/3, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI…Where art thou?

Jhonny Peralta – 2/4, 2 R, HR, RBI…JP with yet another jack. Career year!

Angel Pagan – 4/6, 3 R, 4 RBI, SB…Pagan may sit on wires everywhere, but he is a decent play going forward if you need OF depth.

Jason Bay – 1/2, 3 R, RBI, 2 SB…Also added 4 walks. Why not get him in your lineup? He’s been hot and so have the Mets. Wait, what?

Raul Ibanez – 3/3, R, HR, 2 RBI…The only damage Lackey allowed.

Ian Kinsler – 2/4, 2 R, 2 HR, 2 RBI…Look who else is heating up!

Mike Stanton – 0/4, 4 K…Streaky. Average dips to .252. Time to buy.

The Arms:
Tim Lincecum
– 7/5/1/9:2…Since I traded for him, he’s been the old Timmy. You’re welcome. Now crush the Padres!

Ryan Dempster – 8/3/1/6:0…Since Killboy threatened to cut him on The 4th and Home Show, he’s been the old Dempster.

James Shields – 7/7/4/10:2…Other than the Hanigan homer, James was decent yet again.

Scott Baker – 7.1/6/0/9:1…Three great starts in his last four with great K numbers.

Bruce Chen – 6/8/0/6:1…The four unearned runs killed him.

Tim Stauffer – 7/4/1/6:2…Brilliant once again as Jesse and Killboy fight over him on the wire.

Carlos Carrasco – 7/4/2/7:0…CC2 in Cleveland should not be on wires at this point.

Chris Carpenter – CG/7/1/5:1…B2B decent starts. Turning a corner? Perhaps, but he still gives up plenty of hits.

Jordan Zimmerman – CG/4/0/4:1…Took the loss. Oh those UNearned runs!

Dan Haren – 7.1/2/0/6:1…Haren gets back on track. Second half slump coming? Not this year.

Vance Worley – 7/5/1/5:2…Another Phillies’ pitcher shutting the Sawx down. WS preview?

Brandon Morrow – 7/4/1/10:3…His K numbers are sick. If he gains consistency, he will be elite.

Ricky Nolasco – 5-hit SHO/3:2…The year I don’t go after him…

Be sure to keep a look out for my May recaps of the “September Star” series.
No, I haven’t forgotten…hell, why not just wait for June recaps now.
