07.18.11 Box Score Breakdown: Fantasy MLB News and Notes

Heat wave is nto only affecting my writing, but Roy Halladay’s pitching!

Onto it…

4th and Home Player of the Day: Joe Mauer – 6/8, R, RBI…”Well played, Mauer.”

The Bats:
Mike Morse
– 3/4, 2 R, HR, RBI…First HR since 1978 for Morse.

Ryan Zimmerman – 2/4, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI…Gosh it’s been a disappointing year for third basemen.

J.J. Hardy – 2/5, 2 R, HR, 3 RBI…A great year for Hardy and of course the O’s locked him up.

Carlos Pena – 3/3, R, HR, 2 RBI…Pena is having a Pena-type year. I really thought it he would’ve fared better in Wrigley.

Curtis Granderson – 2/3, 2 R, 2 SB…No homers since the All-Star game, but stop you’re pouting. He’s hitting .350.

Freddie Freeman – 3/5, 2 R, HR, 3 RBI…Quite the rookie season for Freeman. Seems the ROY voting will be between Braves!

Pablo Sandoval – 3/4, 2 R, HR, RBI…Do you even know how decent of a season Panda is having? I bet you don’t because he’s been injured. He makes a nice trade target heading into the playoffs.

The Arms:
David Huff
– 7/5/0/5:2…A David Luciani favorite, Huff has disappointed in his previous MLB time. This start was a great way to kick off his 2011 for the Tribe. Based on history, I do not see it continuing.

Fausto Carmona – 6/7/2/1:0…Activated, controlled the walks and won. Fausto’s recipe for victory.

Jason Marquis – 8/6/2/9:1…Easy. Easy. It was against the ‘stros.

Rodrigo Lopez – 6.2/5/1/3:0…The Phillies could do nothing against the Cubs’ Ace.

Roy Halladay – 4/7/3/1:1…Left early of embarrassment.

Josh Collmenter – 8/3/0/7:0…Continues to trot out there and fire gems.

Ryan Vogelsong – 6.2/7/0/5:1…Speaking of gems, RV keeps getting it done.

Heading to the Mets/Cards game tonight. Can’t wait to see the garbage my team trots out there. Reyes BETTER be activated tonight! Enjoy Killboy and Jesse tonight on The 4th and Home Show – that is, if Killboy can figure out the switchboard in my absence.
