4th and Home Player of the Day: Brett Cecil – 4-hit SHO/7:2…I guess AAA helped? Monitor him. Not ready to push all of my chips into the middle for him just yet, but I’ve always been intrigued by him.
The Bats:
Mike Stanton – 2/4, 2 R, HR, RBI…Some think he has a 40/20 season in him. I sure hope so!
David Wright – 3/4, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI…To say he’s been hot since his DL-activation would be an understatement.
Colby Rasmus – 2/4, 2 R, HR, RBI…Upping his price tag?
Hideki Matsui – 5/5, R, RBI…How does a 3-hole hitter produce little when getting 5 hits? Oh, when you’re an Athletic.
Nick Markakis – 3/4, 2 R, HR, RBI…Been hot this month, but the overall line is still garbage. Still glad I dropped him.
Torii Hunter – 3/4, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI…Hunter batting .237. That’s about his age too!
Brendan Ryan – 2/4, 2 R, HR, 5 RBI…Someone from Seattle showed up. But, another loss.
Desmond Jennings – 2/3, SB…Not a great fantasy line, but he’s showing he’s waiver worthy if still available in your league.
Justin Upton – 4/4, 2 R, 3 RBI…J-Up was the hottest hitter this weekend. 9/12 with a HR and 9 RBI.
Drew Stubbs – 2/4, 2 R, HR, RBI, SB….WALK OFF!!! BSFU!!! All in one night. Like a Tuesday in Vegas!
The Arms:
Roy Halladay – 8/8/2/8:1…Typical Roy. This is the guy I want pitching my Game 7.
Matt Garza – 7/5/2/9:3…It helped it was against the Astros, but Garza is good. Except when he’s bad.
Madison Bumgarner – 7.2/8/1/8:0…Guy is young enough that he could be top-tier in a year or two.
Alex Cobb – 7/6/0/2:0…Doing his best Matt Moore imrpession. Cobb is now 3-0/2.57/1.21/24 in 42 innings.
Chad Billingsley – 7/2/1/10:2…Doing what Lilly should’ve done against the Nats – shut them DOWN.
