07.28.11 Box Score Breakdown: Fantasy MLB News and Notes

Just a few days left and some big names have yet to move. I picked up Ryan Ludwick because I’m convinced he’ll be a Phillie and if not, being part of the Sawx carries equal fantasy weight.

4th and Home Player of the Day: Desmond Jennings – 3/4, 2 R, HR, 4 RBI, SB…That was fast. Few games into his career and he makes the BSB POD. Yeah, he’s for real. Upton can leave.

The Bats:
Miguel Cabrera
– 2/5, 2 R, HR, RBI…At the end of the day his numbers won’t look like last year’s, but they’ll still be first round quality.

Mark Trumbo – 3/5, 3 R, HR, 5 RBI…Missed the cycle by a single? You’d think the triple would be elusive for the big man!

Erik Aybar – 3/4, R, 2 RBI, SB…Straight up for Reyes (rumor)? No, but closer than you think.

Joey Votto – 2/5, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI…Three straight with a jack. Must think he’s Billy Butler. What?

Dustin Pedroia – 1/3, R, HR, RBI, SB…BSFU! STILL on fire.

Billy Butler – 1/4, R, HR, 3 RBI…Votto’s biggest fan.

Ryan Braun – 3/4, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI…Looks like he’ll come close to matching his 2009 season.

Jesus Guzman – 2/2, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI, SB…BSFU! Wow, he’s come out of nowhere. Hitting .329/4/17 in just over a month’s worth of games.

Edwin Encarnacion – 3/4, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI…Lawrie should be up soon, so enjoy it EE.

Vladimir Guerrero – 2/4, R, HR, RBI, SB…What is this, BSFU Day? Vlad? Are you kidding me?

J.J. Hardy – 3/5, 3 R, 2 HR, 2 RBI…30 is within reach. Actually, the way he’s killing the ball, 40 is in reach!

Andrew McCutchen – 3/5, R, HR, 3 RBI…His 9th inning homer made sure there were no more late inning losses in Hotlanta.

Carlos Lee – 2/4, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI…Home run no. 10 as he shows that the power is definitely gone.

The Arms:
Luke Hochevar
– 7/6/2/6:1…Former top pick outduels Beckett. Yeah, that won’t happen again.

Rich Harden – 6/3/2/7:2…Last start as an Athletic? Perhaps and it was a dandy.

Tim Lincecum – 6/3/0/6:4…Throwing the ole puke ball, he shut the Phillies down. Ok, that was stupid.

Wandy Rodriguez – 7/5/1/6:1…Is this his last start as an Astro? I’ll say no, but he sure does look like a future Pinstriper.
