Handful of games last night. Before we check in on them, don’t forget Killboy and I will be on radio this evening. Check the tab up top or just click HERE.
4th and Home Player of the Day: Cliff Lee – 7/3/0/7:3…Shut down a dreadful Mets team. I mention my team is dreadful?
Ichiro – 3/5, R, HR, RBI…Pulling his Ricky Henderson impression to lead off the game. His 3rd dinger of the year. Look out!
Hunter Pence – 2/3, 4 R, HR, 2 RBI…Now halfway to his Astro HR total in a 1/5 of the games.
Jayson Werth – 2/4, 2 R, HR, 3 RBI…Batting .229 now with 15 HR and 48 RBI. We knew he’d regress, but this is Beltre-like regression.
Ryan Doumit – 2/4, R, HR, 2 RBI…Coming alive. Batting north of .340 this month with 3 homers. Worth a grab.
Corey Hart – 3/6, 2 R, HR, RBI…Not bad a double dipper.
J.J. Hardy – 1/3, 2 R, HR, RBI…No.24 now. Hey Twinkies, how you like dem apples?
Carlos Gonzalez – 2/5, 2 R, HR, 3 RBI…Undervalued heading into 2012 if that’s possible. Check his sabers. 2012 is gonna be like 2010.
Brian Bogusevic – 3/4, R, HR, RBI…Hits a walk-off granny last week and decides he’s going to be the NL Bautista?
Fausto Carmona – 6/6/1/6:1…Walks in check? Yes. Victory? No. Bullpen blew it.
Justin Verlander – 7/3/1/8:3…Win no. 19 and barring a meltdown, the CY is his. All his!
C.J. Wilson – 6.2/4/0/4:2…His splits before and after the break are nearly identical, but his BAA post-break is stellar. Defying the heat in the bandbox!
Chris Carpenter – 8/5/1/7:1…Carp has been pitching real well of late, but he’s a pitcher I’d be nervous about during the playoffs. A bombing is always in the “cards.”
Nathan Eovaldi – 5/5/1/2:1…Another decent start, but I wouldn’t let him date my sister (just yet).
