Welcome to Killin’ the Odds & the NFL Season! Below you will see my picks to win for the week. I will post either the “Money Line” or the “Point Spread”. The money line is always a “straight up” bet which means your team will never need to win or lose by a specific amount of points. The money line odds represent what amount has to be wagered or what can be won. For example, if there is a minus sign (-) next to an amount, you have to wager that amount to win 100. If there is a plus sign (+) next to an amount, you will receive that amount for every 100 wagered. A “Point Spread” wager is made on either the favorite (-) or underdog (+) team. A wager on the favored team means that this team must not only win but also win by the specified point spread. A wager on the underdog means that this team may either win or lose, as long as they do no lose by more than the specified point spread. If the game ends on the teams meeting the spread exactly, the wager is a push. Example: If the Cowboys are favored by -3 and win the game by exactly 3 points, the wager is a push.
New York Jets -3.5 (-105) @ Oakland Raiders +3.5 (-115) My Pick: Oakland Raiders Point Spread (Bodog)
The Jets aren’t as good as everyone thinks they are. With the Raiders coming off a heartbreaking loss against Buffalo last week, look for them to cover in their home opener. They may even win the game outright.
New England Patriots -7.5 (-105) @ Buffalo Bills +7.5 (-115) My Pick: New England Patriots Point Spread (Bodog & Sportsbook)
I have a feeling this one will be a blowout. Don’t get me wrong, I love the way Buffalo has played this season but Tom Brady & company will be too much for Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Detroit Lions -3.5 (-105) @ Minnesota Vikings +3.5 (-115) My Pick: Detroit Lions Point Spread (Sportsbook)
The Lions have been on a roll this year and the Vikings cannot find a way to win. The Vikings will look to Adrian Peterson early and often but if they fall too far behind, their passing game leaves much to be desired.
Pittsburgh Steelers -10.5 (-110) @ Indianapolis Colts +10.5 (-110) My Pick: Pittsburgh Steelers Point Spread (Sportsbook)
This game will be a blowout. If Kerry Collins and the Colts couldn’t get anything done against the Browns and the Texans, they will fall on hard times against the Steelers too. The Steelers should cover by the half.
Results From Week Two
Atlanta Falcons +3 (-125): WIN +80
Tennessee Titans +6 (-105): WIN +95
Chicago Bears +7 (-120): LOSS -100
Dallas Cowboys -3 (-110): PUSH
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+130):WIN +130
Total From Week Two: +205
